Practise a Realistic Interview
Practise one interview question at a time, respond to realistic follow-ups and get specific feedback on your answers.
Step 01
Answer a realistic question
Ask Me a Realistic Interview Question
Practise with one realistic interview question at a time, based on the role you are applying for rather than a generic list.
Act as an interviewer for the role I provide and ask me one realistic interview question. Use the job description and my background as context. Rules: - Ask one question only. - Do not give me a model answer before I respond. - Choose a question that tests a meaningful requirement, behaviour or responsibility from the supplied role. - Make the wording sound like something a real interviewer could ask, not an exam question. - Avoid trick questions or questions that depend on information not available from the role. After asking the question, stop and wait for my answer. If I use this prompt independently rather than inside an ongoing interview practice session, start with a medium-difficulty question unless I specify otherwise. Step 02
Handle a realistic follow-up
Ask Me a Realistic Interview Follow-Up
Generate a realistic follow-up question based on the interview answer you just gave, so you practise explaining evidence under gentle pressure.
Ask me one realistic interview follow-up based on the answer I provide. Use the original interview question, my answer and the job context if available. Choose the follow-up that would be most useful for testing something my first answer left unclear, such as: - what I personally did; - why I chose that approach; - a difficult decision or trade-off; - evidence for the result; - what I would change; - how I handled another person's response; - whether the example really demonstrates the required skill. Rules: - Ask only one follow-up question. - Do not turn it into feedback yet. - Do not assume missing facts. - Keep the tone realistic and professional rather than hostile. - Wait for my response after asking the follow-up. Original interview question: [QUESTION] My answer: [MY ANSWER] Job description/context: [OPTIONAL: PASTE OR ATTACH]
Step 03
Get feedback on my answer
Critique My Interview Answer
Get specific feedback on an interview answer: what was convincing, what remained vague and how to improve it without inventing a stronger story.
Critique my interview answer against the question and role I provide. Assess the answer on: 1. Relevance — did I actually answer the question? 2. Evidence — did I give enough specific proof rather than claims? 3. Ownership — is it clear what I personally did? 4. Structure — is the answer easy to follow when spoken? 5. Judgement — does it show how or why I made decisions where relevant? 6. Outcome — is the result clear and supported? 7. Concision — what could be removed without losing useful evidence? For each area, give: - What worked - What could be stronger - One practical change Then suggest a stronger structure using only facts already present in my answer. If important evidence is missing, ask me for it rather than inventing it. Finish with one follow-up question that would help me improve the answer on a second attempt.
